BBC News Feature: The Rise of Fractional Leadership
I’ve had a few “Wait… were you on BBC News this morning?!” messages and yes, I was!
But more importantly…
I’m genuinely delighted to see fractional leadership getting the spotlight on a global stage.
This model - where self-employed, top-tier executives work across a portfolio of organisations, delivering strategic leadership at the C-suite level - really works.
It works for the executives, who gain flexibility, variety, autonomy and meaning in their work.
And it works for businesses, who gain access to expert skills and strategic leadership that’s agile, affordable and deeply committed - with time dialled up or down as needed, but always with 100% commitment.
It’s particularly powerful for SMEs, the backbone of our economy, typically those with revenues up to £100m - who don’t need, don’t want, or can’t afford a full-time C-suite, but absolutely need the skillset.
The more we research, invest in and adopt this model widely, the greater the collective impact - for our professionals, businesses, and economy.
If you're curious about how the model works - both in theory and in practice - feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to share insights from my DBA research and experience in the business.
